Since it's Summer for another 18 days, the hot/humid weather has decided to stick around. I'm pretty sure it will overstay its welcome. Oh well, it's back to work I go after this long holiday weekend. It sure was nice having that extra day off.
We had a nice Labor Day weekend. Friday night football, supporting niece in a pageant (she won!), a rodeo, and shopping. And yesterday we got all daughters fair and contest entries ready. I think the next break off from school is Thanksgiving. It seems like a long ways off but I know the time will fly by.
In all our years of having rental properties I’ve had to do an eviction for the first time. Didn’t want to but there wasn’t another choice. And the best part is they are furious with me because they didn’t hold up their end and there were consequences. And these aren’t young people either. They are way old enough to know better. It’s a crazy world out there folks.

It's just a regular work day for me. At least, let's hope so. I like days with no surprises. Today will be the warmest day of the week as we top out at 94F. Rain is coming tomorrow. Church tonight, then more work on the car show. I made a 328-slide PPT for the awards banquet last night. A lot of the slides were similar, just different class names. So it was a lot of copy, paste, change name.
This week has been hot and in the 90s but starting this weekend we’ll have 80 and 70s for daytime highs. I am so looking forward to it. We got some much needed rain overnight and I’m very thankful. Some trees are starting to show the tiniest hint of color.
A few weeks ago I started reading ‘The Christmas Sweater’ by Glenn Beck. I only read a couple chapters. A couple days ago I picked it back up and I finished it last night. I really liked it but it’s so sad. If you have loved ones missing from your life then Christmas will always have a bit of sadness mixed in with the Joy. That’s life… and that’s the part I dislike the most.

It's going to be a warm and sticky day with a high of 90F. We may get some rain this evening. Fingers crossed. We need it. I've noticed the grass has slowed down with its growth. Only 4-6 weeks of mowing season left. I've had two nights in a row of going to bed after midnight. It's catching up to me fast. Early bedtime tonight for sure.
