2026 Christmas Countdown and Updates (Goal: 2300 Posts)

I got some sad news this morning from my brother. Our parents were awakened by an explosion in their garage this morning. They and the dog got outside immediately and are OK, but they lost their house to the fire. My dad's truck was far enough away from the house that it wasn't damaged. But that's all they were able to save. They will be staying at my brother's house while they get everything sorted out. He lives about 5 miles south of them. He and his wife are empty nesters and have a four-bedroom house with a fully finished basement that has a living room, two more bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a full bathroom. I feel so helpless being 750 miles away. I talked to them this evening, and they are in good spirits. We have a lot of family up there that will help out, and they also have a great church family that loves them and is very generous. I'm hoping to get up there in the next few weeks to see them. I am so thankful they got out safely. Thank you, Lord!

Oh Christmas Crazy I am so sorry that happened to your parents but so, so thankful they got out ok. Sounds like they have a wonderful support system to help them through. Hopefully you can get to see them soon to get the calm and reassurance you need.

This has been a busy week trying to get everything planted before the rain we are supposed to get this weekend. Grandson had a baseball game this week and we really enjoyed watching him and all the kids. They’ve grown so much.

Daughter is into finals at college. I swear we just moved her in there and now it’s time to move her home. I’m not complaining. I look forward to anytime I can spend with my girl. Shes got a summer job lined up and has actually been working it on weekends since the first of March.

Good afternoon, Christmas Friends!

The guys and I got back from four days at the races this afternoon. We had a great time. I took over 2300 pictures that I need to sort and touch up. Unfortunately, I brought a nasty head cold home with me. I have very severe congestion, especially in my ears. No fun.

Have a wonderful and blessed evening!!!

Good morning, Christmas Friends!

I woke up and called out of work today. This head cold is trying to keep me down. I'll work a little from home and rest. I just took a bunch of meds to help with the symptoms. It looks like we'll have a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and a high of 78F. I wish I could get out there and enjoy it, but I need to take it easy today.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!!!

Thunderstorms rolled through last night. No damage here but we did get some wonderful rain. Such great sleeping weather.
