Michelle and I had a great weekend on Jekyll Island. I worked, she played. Some friends and I are planning a national car show, so we met with the island tourism group and looked at facilities, event locations. We also took photos for the advertising. It was a cool and breezy, but beautiful weekend. Michelle and the girls got to do some shopping and we all ate very well. Lots of seafood.
I'm working from home this morning because our new refrigerator is supposed to be delivered between 8 AM and Noon. Michelle has today off due to it being Presidents Day. So happy Presidents Day President Carter, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden!

Our new refrigerator was delivered yesterday. We got another Whirlpool. She's a beauty. My face is starting to peel. It was the only thing exposed to the sun this past weekend, and I got burned. The sun is still intense at the beach in February. If you have to wear a jacket to go outside, you wouldn't think the sun would get you like that.
Woke up to 55F this morning. Should reach a high of 81F. And a pollen alert just popped up on my phone. Here we go.

Today should be a carbon copy of yesterday as far as the weather is concerned. Sun and clouds with a high in the lower 80s.
Tonight Michelle and I will be attending a dinner with entertainment with a bunch of friends. Our brokerage firm holds this every year and has been quite fun the last couple of years. One of our best friends is a co-owner and ever since he took over finding the entertainment, it's been a lot more fun. Last year we had an Elvis impersonator and this year we're having an 80s band perform. In previous years they would bring in a speaker. The last one was from Goldman Sachs talking about investment strategies. It was a snooze fest and that's the brokerage firm's job to know all that.
Hopefully, it will be an easy day at work. But with my manager being out, some things will fall on me. Oh well. One team, right?
Another Winter Storm Warning. I am usually not happy to see sleet but it’s what we’re getting right now and it’s the best case scenario. The forecast said freezing rain with ice accumulation anywhere from a quarter inch to 1 inch. But this front came in much colder and faster than was predicted. Snow would have been best but I’ll take sleet over freezing rain any day. The cattle and horses are fed and the wood furnace is full so it’s time for a little break. If I wasn’t so tired I might drag out that Christmas tree.

Winter Storm Day 2. We’ve had freezing rain mixed in with a lot of sleet and a little snow today. Both days we’ve had thunder sleet and that’s actually kinda cool. We haven’t lost power so that’s a blessing. They are working on trying to clear main roads but the driveways and county roads are ice covered messes. The precipitation should be moved out in a couple more hours. The last Winter Storm I read ‘Dear Santa’ by Debbie Macomber. It was a Christmas gift from my daughter and I loved it! This Storm I just finished ‘The Christmas Promise’ by Richard Paul Evans. I liked it but it definitely isn’t one of my favorites by him.
