Yesterday I put on new brake pads on my car. In doing so, I noticed there was not much tread left. So today I will get new tires. Whenever I put tires on the car, I wonder which one will last the longest: the car or the tires. The car always wins. It's 21 years old and still going strong. We will defrost the freezer later this afternoon and then head out to the fair for dinner and a Tesla concert. It will be a little flashback to my heavy metal days. LOL.
10 days until Great American Christmas (GAC) 20 days until Halloween 43 days until Thanksgiving Day - USA 71 days until Winter Begins 75 days until Christmas 82 days until New Years Day
This vacation week has been great so far. I love sleeping in until I wake up naturally. We went to the fair last night and had a great time. Saw a few shows and went to the Tesla concert. We left after the fourth song. It's just not our "scene" any longer. They did put on a good show up to that point.
Michelle is making apple dumplings today and I may shampoo all the carpets.

I went to bed at 10:30 last night and didn't get up until 8:00 this morning. I'm good at vacationing. I should do it more often. Today I will shampoo the carpet in the living room. We just got all the furniture out and Michelle is vacuuming. Not much else is planned for this rainy day. If things dry out this afternoon, maybe we'll go have supper at the fair.
First thing yesterday morning hubby got hurt. Probably the nastiest cut I have ever seen. After a visit to the clinic, a mad dash to the ER and one outpatient surgery later he’s ‘almost’ good as new. He’s way tougher than me because he’s already back at work. At least we got tickled at the standard hospital questions of’Do you identify as man, woman, or other’ and ‘did you do this intentionally to harm yourself?’ I know…they gotta ask. It’s better to laugh than cry.

We had a great prayer breakfast this morning to start the day. Daisy and I just got back from her annual checkup at the vet. She's fit as a fiddle. Michelle and I are going to a new-to-us burger joint for lunch. We've heard lots of good things about it. And wouldn't you know it? It's right near to a boutique she likes shopping at. LOL. What a perk for her. I may have to stop by Home Depot on our way home just to check out their Christmas stuff. I might "need" something while we're there.
Today will be another rainy day with a high in the low 60s.
